Weldstop Fabrics, what you need to know.

Weldstop blankets are constructed from a glass cloth base fabric, treated with an ultra-fine mineral based aqueous dispersion. Similar to the refractory glass cloth, this provides a coating of platelets which, at high temperatures, melt to create a protective layer for the base glass cloth. The mineral based treatment also improves the abrasion resistance of the material.

Weldstop blankets are capable of withstanding hot metal splashes and welding sparks and, as such, are most frequently used in the manufacture of welding screens and curtains.

Why you should choose Weldstop fabrics from IC International

Special treatments give our Weldstop fabrics a higher temperature resistance from 600ºC (radiant heat) up to 1000ºC (molten metal globules). Weldstop fabrics (product reference: Z1687/409) are suitable for heavy-duty welding/cutting operations, ‘hot works’ and also fire cavity barriers.

Our Weldstop fabrics benefit from superior tensile strength and abrasion resistance. With our having a certification to BS 476 part 4 / Class ‘0’ Building Regulation Conformity and BS 476 part 20 (wherein a 1-hour integrity rating was achieved).

Used throughout the world on oil rigs, construction and building sites, factories, gas and petrochemical plants, oil refineries, etc.
